Fight for Your Man Emailer

AGENCY: AXENT, INC.

Awareness work calls for clarity and care. For Janssen’s Fight For Your Man campaign—a prostate cancer awareness initiative—the challenge was to communicate urgency and information without losing empathy or dignity. Although my role on the team was copywriting, I stepped in to support the campaign through art direction and layout. I developed the visual treatment for the emailer, working closely with the team to ensure the artwork balanced emotional resonance with scientific credibility.

The design followed a clean, infographic-led approach. A blue cancer awareness ribbon anchors the layout, with its loop framing images of a child, an adult man, and a senior citizen—visually representing the life affected by prostate health.

Below the hero visual, key scientific facts were presented in a structured, easy-to-digest format, allowing readers to absorb essential information quickly within the constraints of an email.

The overall look remained restrained and respectful, ensuring the message felt informative rather than alarming.

WHEN DESIGN CARRIES RESPONSIBILITY

This project reinforced the importance of restraint and intention when designing for health advocacy. Clear visuals, thoughtful symbolism, and well-organized information can help sensitive topics feel approachable—proving that art direction, even in small formats like emailers, plays a crucial role in education and awareness.
